The Plug-and-Play Solution For Your Fuel Pump Upgrade
Whether you are on the dyno getting a tune, sending it at the track or just heading out to get the groceries, our kit makes sure your upgraded fuel pump can keep up with your engine’s demands in any situation.
With only standard tools and a little time, anyone can install the iWire Fuel Pump Hardwire Kit. We include step-by-step instructions (both video and written) and all the components to make this, dare we say, enjoyable.
Don’t Run Out of Fuel, Maximize Flow No Matter Which Pump
The iWire Hardwire Kit improves the fuel system electronics to ensure that your engine gets the fuel it needs. The factory FPC steps down the voltage from 14v to 12v, so we designed our kit to pull power directly from the battery to maximize your pump’s capabilities. We increased the wire size to handle the added electrical current of a larger pump and beefed up the grounding circuit to keep up with the heightened demand. We aim to bridge the gap between the inefficiency of your stock wiring and the ideal conditions of the fuel pump testing lab.
All Kits Now Include the Stud Bypass!
The most common failure of the fuel pump or fuel pump controller is the connector overheating and melting. Our Stud Bypass Kit moves the power and ground wires out of the stock connector to eliminate any concerns of terminal, terminal failure.
The Fuel Pump Controller (FPC) is Your Secret to Horsepower and Drivability
iWire designed the kit so that the FPC stays in the system to retain the pump's low/medium/high settings. With this feature maintained, the FPC can deliver the correct amount of fuel under any condition and shut it off if there is a problem. Other "hardwire kits" remove the FPC, which causes the fuel pump to run at maximum speed constantly. Without the intermediate settings, your pump will be working too hard in certain conditions like bumper-to-bumper traffic which decreases driveability. Another byproduct of the pump working too hard is increased fuel temperatures which reduces horsepower. Worst of all, the pump may stay on if there is an accident or fire.
Expandable for Future Fuel System Upgrades
The base kit works with pumps of any size. For example, if you switch from an AEM 340 to Walbro 450, there will be no issues. Just reach out to us to reconfigure your kit. If you decide to go with a Radium hanger in the future (single or double pump), we have add-on packages to your current setup to make those upgrades a breeze.
Fitment Notes:
If you have a Visconti Hanger, please select AEM 340 for the fuel pump type no matter which pump you are running. They changed the connector type from the original Walbro to the AEM type.
We generally do not recommend a 500+ LPH pump, but if you are we, recommend looking into a different Fuel Pump Controller.
The standard kit does not work with 2015+ WRX and 2014+ Forester due to Fuel Pump Controller Design.
